dont understand the picture of the cave. pleasd enlighten me. Also meaning no disrespect but can anyone tell me the difernce between Sunni and Shia/Shite. And the hatred between the 2 groups.
Br Ivan- The cave in it's unfortunate defiled state is the site where the first revelations of the Holy Quran were revealed to the Prophet Muhammad. The Saudi govt with it's reformist WAHHABI ideology(another sect in Islam), feels that these sites are not preserving or maintaining (minor upkeep such as garbage pickup etc). The Sunni Shiite divide- started as a historical one and now has grown over time into a full blown ideological one. There are divisions within Shiite Islam, that are no longer considered as being muslims by mainstream Islam.
